Not really a needed project but something we just wanted to do.
Along with the more serious projects, that add to the ChevyBaker's reliability, safety, and comfort, there are times when we simply look at the car and think - "what would make it more pretty?" This is one of those times.
We recently had to work in the engine compartment to replaced the thermostat and for reasons unknown we kept looking to the right - at the alternator.

For all the shiny bits in the compartment the alternator just stands out as "Not Shiny". Now there is absolutly nothing wrong with the alternator. Sure we added a few electronics (dash cams, LED headlights, bluetooth speakers, glovebox light, trunk light) but the alternator seems to be keeping pace. It just kept pulling our gaze and then, you know, Amazon happened...
For the low price of $88 we found a replacement that will most like keep pulling our eye but for the right reasons. We simple swapped this into place as a change in kind and stared at it for a moment. Then closed the hood.

So again, not a needed project but it was cheap to buy, delivered to our door step, and was somewhat easy to install. We actually had to mound the bracket on the back side of the alternator lug as the cooling fins would oh so lightly drag on the bottom of the bracket. And now its shiny.
